I'm Alexsan.
Alexsan Matugas is a writer based in the Philippines. He has been exposed to writing since his formative years, and he was often a mainstay in journalistic competitions. When he's not seriously doubting his existence, he finds comfort in writing poems and other random stuff born out of his introspection and experiences. Believing that time is the only meaningful force in human lives, he seeks to make the best of the present moment before it slips beyond his reach.
Welcome to his personal blog-slash-website. May your stay be just as meaningful.

alexsicon.
Conceived on an ordinary afternoon in late 2015, this blog became my personal escape from the things I wanted to avoid in my life. I guess what I wanted was to have a place where I could've told myself the things I should've known, a place that was like a letter addressed to my younger self.
Though many of the posts here have been hidden from the public's eyes, the spirit of this blog remains the same. It's a place to think about the human condition and the things that make us human. Whether that turns out to be a repository of selected prose and poetry or a discussion of something I feel so strongly about, I find myself turning to this place as an outlet—just as it served me since its inception.
The name alexsicon is a deliberate choice. It's a combination of my first name "Alexsan" and one of my favorite words in the English language, "lexicon." In a way, this blog is where I paint words for all to see, regardless of where they are in their respective lives. I love to think that just like a dictionary, this is a place for them to refer to in their most confusing moments, too.
